gemiusHeatMap gets new face
2008-06-12
Gemius SA, an online research agency, introduces an improved version of the gemiusHeatMap product to the market. The new function – ClickMap – registers all clicks made in a web site. The research enables one to estimate the popularity of particular sections of a web site and consequently implement navigation solutions.
gemiusHeatMap research points out the links and spots in a web site which Internet users click on with the highest frequency. The knowledge of such strong and weak points of a web site allows one to implement solutions which will improve the ergonomic side and attractiveness of a web site. The new quality of gemiusHeatMap is composed of two modules: LinkMap and ClickMap.
LinkMap informs about clicks on the links and clickable elements. The accumulated data smooth out the progress of swift evaluation of information publicised in a web site, therefore it enables one to develop the most popular subjects and modify those of low interest. LinkMap helps to position products and information on the web site effectively, moreover, it defines the optimal updating frequency. Apart from conventional links, the research also computes clicks in forms, maps and JavaScripts (along with elements prepared in Ajax technology).
The second module of gemiusHeatMap research is ClickMap, which patterns all of the clicks made in the web site and presents it in temperature map form. The obtained results pin down the “hottest” web site spots – spots which are attractive and catch the attention of users. Owing to this function, the spot of the most concentrated movement can be checked or whether all the elements clicked by users are in fact links.
“The tool meets publishers’ and Internet shops’ requirements perfectly”, emphasises Maciej Mikołajczak, overseer of the research. “The delay in results presentation is 10 minutes on average, so that the web site administrator can react quickly to alter the users’ behaviour”.
gemiusHeatMap research is carried out continuously and lasts unnoticed to web site users. Results are available in a special interface. A functional and visually attractive application enables one to simultaneously overlook both the web site itself and graphic and numerical information regarding clicks.
The clicks statistics are computed for each sub-site of the web site separately. Particular sub-sites are distinguished on the basis of the URL address. Statistics are available in several time periods – the last hour, today or the day before, the present or previous week and the current or previous month.
